Tons Crew

Privacy notice for crews, the optional shared part of Tons. Updated 24 September 2026.

Crew is optional. Your personal training journal works without a Crew account. This notice describes the additional data sharing in Crew, beyond the personal journal privacy policy.

Your account and shared activity

Sign in with Apple creates a Crew account with an account identifier and a display name you choose. Tons does not request your email address or contacts. Supabase hosts the account, group membership, invitations and the exercise activity you agree to share when joining a group, on servers in the European Union (Frankfurt).

Current group members can see exercises, timestamps, repetitions, equipment or additional weights, whether a set was gym, kettlebell or bodyweight, calculated tonnage and reactions from when you join. Your sets are uploaded once and belong to you; if you are in several groups, each one sees them from the day you joined it. Older personal history is not uploaded. Raw bodyweight measurements and Apple Health samples are not uploaded. Calculated tonnage can nevertheless reveal information about body mass, including when a Health measurement was used in the calculation.

Notifications and service operations

If you enable reaction notifications, Tons stores your device push token and uses Apple's Push Notification service. Push text is generic and contains no exercise details. You can disable these notifications in Crew settings.

The developer can access Crew data to operate the service and investigate reports. Service providers process network information needed to operate the service. Crew includes no advertising or analytics SDK. Data is not sold or used for advertising. See Supabase's privacy notice and Apple's privacy notice.

Leaving, blocking and deleting

Leaving or being removed takes you and your activity out of that group. Your shared sets stay on the server only while you are in another group, and are deleted when you leave your last one. Blocking hides activity between the two accounts and prevents reactions. Other members may already have seen information you shared.

Delete your Crew account in Crew settings to remove the account, profile, shared exercise data, reactions and device tokens, and revoke Sign in with Apple access. A group owner first transfers ownership or deletes the group. Reports can remain without account identifiers. Your personal journal and personal iCloud copy are unaffected.

Pending changes remain on your device during an outage and are sent when the service is back.

Contact and reports

Report offensive names or harassment from the member profile, or contact michal.ciesielski@me.com about privacy, access, correction or deletion. Reports are reviewed by the developer.
